The West was built on homesteads, cattle ranches and the American Cowboy. The horse was the cornerstone of this western frontier. Over the past 2 centuries, this majestic animal never lost its importance in the cowboy way of life. Saddle up for a visit the WJ Ranch to experience a bit of everyday ranch life.
Horsemanship Package: (approximately 1 1/2 hour visit) Do you ever wonder how a human and an animal many times their size can mutually respect and enjoy being with each other? Here’s your opportunity to witness firsthand how we at the WJ Ranch use natural horsemanship to attain this goal. Your visit will begin with observation of natural horsemanship in action. Watch round pen work with young colts and see how they are prepared for riding then watch as a horse is ridden using these methods. Refreshments provided, which include freshly brewed iced tea, cowboy coffee, bars and cookies. Tour includes visit to the WJ museum and gift shop. Call for pricing information.
Chuckwagon Package: ( approximately 2 hours) This tour includes short horsemanship demonstration along with a trip back in time with rides in a 1924 Model T Ford Truck. A horse and buggy ride is an optional add-on. Jan will provide live cowboy music for your enjoyment. End (or begin) your ranch visit with an old fashioned chuckwagon dinner of a A) BBQ beef sandwich and all the cowboy fixins’ or B) Cowboy Chili with cornbread (drinks and dessert included in both menu choices). Tour includes visit to the WJ museum and gift shop. Call for pricing information.
The WJ Ranch gift shop features many gift and souvenir items. You’ll find such things as framed artwork, Western signs, rope and barbed wire art, western gift items, jewelry and much more.
The WJ Ranch Museum features collections of WW II memorabilia, Western Artifacts, A Cowboy Music Display, Western Toy Display, Vintage Cowboy Tack, Buggy and many more unusual and interesting items.
All packages above may be customized (activities mixed and matched) to fit your group and your time frame. Packages will then be priced accordingly. (Tour leader and bus driver receive complimentary admission)
